  • Small. Underarms, bikini line, abdomen, and the front or back of the neck.
  • Medium. Brazilian, full face, half arms, buttocks, and the full neck.
  • Large. Full arms, half legs, half back, chest, and stomach.
  • Extra large. Full legs, full back, and chest with stomach.

How laser hair removal works

The laser’s light is absorbed by the pigment in each hair and turns to heat in the follicle, the root under your skin. A follicle that takes enough heat grows back less hair, and what does grow back is often finer.

Hair grows in cycles, and the laser only reaches hairs that are actively growing. At any moment some of the hairs in an area are resting, so laser hair removal is a series of sessions spaced weeks apart. Claudia plans your series with you at your consult.

Because the laser looks for pigment, it works best on dark hair. White, gray, light blonde, and red hair have too little for it to find. If that’s your hair, waxing may suit you better, and we offer that too.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

Laser hair removal gives permanent hair reduction. After a full series, fewer hairs grow back in the treated area, and that change lasts. It doesn’t mean every hair is gone for good.

Some hair can return over the years, especially where hormones keep follicles active, and some clients come back for an occasional touch-up session.

What to expect

Book online, or start with a free consult

Pick the size that covers your area. If you’re not sure which one it is, or whether laser suits your hair and skin, see Claudia for the free consult first.

Before your session

Shave the area beforehand. Skip waxing, plucking, and tweezing, which pull out the root the laser needs to reach. Stay out of tanning beds and strong sun, and tell us about any medicine that makes your skin sensitive to light.

Your session

Claudia moves the laser over the area in passes. Most people feel quick, warm snaps, a bit like a rubber band. For smaller areas, you can add numbing cream at no charge when you book.

Between sessions

Some redness afterward is common. Wear sunscreen on the area, shave as often as you like, and don’t wax or pluck until your series is done.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does laser hair removal cost?

Laser hair removal is priced by the size of the area, in five sizes from extra small, like the upper lip, to extra large, like full legs. For current prices, call 801-877-5801 or text 866-485-7664. The consult with our master aesthetician is free.

Is laser hair removal permanent?

The reduction is. Once your series is finished, the treated area grows back less hair for the long term. A few new hairs can still show up over the years, often where hormones are at work, so some clients book a touch-up session now and then.

How many sessions will I need?

Everyone needs a series, because the laser only reaches hairs that are actively growing, and an area never has all of its hairs growing at once. How many you need depends on the area, your hair, and your skin. Claudia works that out with you at the free consult.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

Most people describe it as quick, warm snaps against the skin, a bit like a rubber band. For smaller areas, you can add numbing cream at no charge when you book.

What disqualifies you from laser hair removal?

The laser needs pigment in the hair, so white, gray, light blonde, and red hair don’t respond well. Recently tanned skin usually needs to wait. Tell us if you’re pregnant, take a medicine that makes your skin sensitive to light, or have a rash or broken skin in the area. The free consult is the place to talk it through.

Can laser hair removal help with PCOS hair growth?

Laser can reduce the hair that’s already there, including on the face. When hormones are driving the growth, new hair can keep coming in, so it may take more sessions and more upkeep. If you think hormones are part of it, our medical providers can look into that too, as a separate appointment booked by phone at 801-877-5801.

Should I choose laser hair removal or waxing?

We offer both. Waxing clears an area for a few weeks at a time, with no series to plan. Laser takes a series of sessions and reduces how much grows back. If you start laser, switch to shaving between sessions, because waxing pulls out the root the laser needs.

Can I book laser hair removal online?

Yes. Laser hair removal and the free consult are both on our online booking page, listed by area size. We’re at 240 E Center St in downtown Provo. Questions? Call 801-877-5801 or text 866-485-7664.
